BorgWarner has announced a significant contract to provide its advanced eFan system for a major global OEM’s heavy- and medium-duty battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in North America. This deal, the company’s largest eFan win in the region, will see production start in Q4 2027.

The eFan system, which includes a fan, e-motor, and high-voltage inverter, delivers up to 10 kW of power and 40 Nm of torque. Designed for a wide temperature range and featuring liquid cooling for enhanced reliability, the system also offers superior noise, vibration, and harshness performance.

Dr. Volker Weng, Vice President of BorgWarner, emphasized the system’s scalability and robustness, highlighting its role in advancing sustainable vehicle technologies. The eFan supports a voltage range of 550V-850V and is adaptable for both BEVs and fuel cell electric vehicles, meeting the demands of high-power commercial applications.
