US Opens Probe into Over 781,000 Stellantis Vehicles Due to Underhood Fire Concerns
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched a probe into approximately 781,459 Stellantis vehicles following reports of fires occurring in the engine compartments of certain models, even when their ignition is turned off. The investigation, conducted by NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), was prompted by a death and injury report, along with multiple field reports of fires in 2021-2022 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles.
The probe could have significant implications for Stellantis, as it involves a substantial number of vehicles and raises serious safety concerns. Vehicle owners are advised to stay informed about the investigation's progress and any potential recalls or safety measures that may be announced.
