U.S. Firm KBR Secures Contract for Petrobras’ FPSO Projects in Offshore Oil Fields

KBR, a U.S. technology and engineering company, has been awarded contracts by Singapore’s Seatrium to design topside facilities for two Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units, which will operate in Petrobras’ Atapu and Sépia oil fields. These FPSOs will each have a capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil and 10 million cubic meters of gas per day. The $8.15 billion project focuses on sustainability, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% per barrel. Production is expected to begin in 2029.
