Saab invests $75M to open new Michigan manufacturing facility
Saab has announced a $75 million investment to open a new integration and assembly facility in Grayling Township, Michigan, aimed at supporting the U.S. military. The project will create 70 new jobs and begin production in 2026. Saab will receive a $3.5 million state grant and tax exemptions worth up to $664,500.
Erik Smith, Saab U.S. CEO, highlighted the importance of strengthening defense capabilities, while Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer celebrated the investment as part of the state's leadership in the defense industry. This follows a wave of manufacturing investments in Michigan, including battery plants and EV facilities.
