Saudi Arabia Shortlists Bidders for 3.7 GW Solar Projects in NREP Round 5 🌞⚡

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has announced the shortlisted bidders for the fifth round of its National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), featuring 3.7 GW of solar PV projects across the country. Key solar projects include the 2 GW Al Sadawi plant in eastern Saudi Arabia, the 1 GW Al Masaa plant in Hail, the 400 MW Al Henakiyah 2 project in Madinah, and the 300 MW Rabigh 2 plant in Makkah.


Top bidders for the Al Sadawi plant include a consortium of the UAE’s Masdar, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), and GD Power Development, offering US$1.29c/kWh, and a China-France SPIC-EDF consortium at US$1.31c/kWh. Other major bidders for the Al Masaa and Al Henakiyah 2 projects include Al Jomaih, TotalEnergies, and KEPCO.
