🌍 Texas Carbon Capture Expansion: Oxy Partners with Enterprise on CO₂ Pipeline for 1PointFive Hub

Occidental Petroleum’s carbon capture unit, 1PointFive, has teamed up with Houston-based Enterprise Products Partners to develop an extensive carbon dioxide pipeline network for the Bluebonnet Sequestration Hub. Located across 55,000 acres in Chambers, Liberty, and Jefferson counties, this hub will be capable of storing 1.2 billion metric tons of CO₂ emissions, providing a scalable decarbonization solution for Texas industries.

Enterprise will establish a network that integrates with existing pipelines, allowing seamless transport of CO₂ from industrial sites near the Houston Ship Channel directly to the hub. By connecting to this shared infrastructure, companies can streamline carbon capture and storage efforts rather than building standalone projects. This initiative recently received federal funding from the Department of Energy (DOE) to support development costs, reinforcing Texas's role in advancing carbon reduction technologies.
