The UK government has awarded £1.4 million ($1.8 million) in grants to 25 groundbreaking transport projects, supporting a shift toward cleaner and smarter mobility across the country. Funded under the Transport Research and Innovation Grant (TRIG) program, this year's projects focus on decarbonization in local and maritime transport, leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and 5G.

Highlighted projects include JET Connectivity’s 5G navigation system to enhance marine safety and efficiency, Steamology Motion’s Zero Emission Marine – Hydrogen and Oxygen Fuel System (ZEM – HOFS) to advance hydrogen-based marine technology, and Neva Group's sustainable electric rim jet drive for zero-emission marine propulsion. The funding aligns with the UK’s goal for climate neutrality by 2050.
