☀️ Recurrent Energy’s Liberty Solar Farm Lights Up Clean Power for 15,000 Texas Homes Near Houston 🌞
Recurrent Energy has officially launched its Liberty Solar project near Houston, bringing 134 megawatts of clean energy to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) market and powering up to 15,000 homes annually. This project, developed by the Austin-based subsidiary of Canadian Solar, marks a significant step toward expanding Texas' renewable energy capacity.
Located in Liberty County, about 50 miles northeast of Houston, the solar farm will serve corporate clients like Autodesk, Biogen, EMD Electronics, and Wayfair. These companies have partnered with Recurrent Energy to access clean, consistent power that aligns with their sustainability goals. Autodesk’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Joe Speicher, praised Liberty Solar for making renewable energy more accessible, aligning with the company’s goal to source 100% renewable energy for its operations.
The project, completed with $200 million in financing from sources like Rabobank, Nord LB, U.S. Bank, and U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 23. Recurrent Energy CEO Ismael Guerrero expressed excitement about delivering the project on time and on budget, further solidifying Recurrent Energy's impact on sustainable energy in Texas.
