🌟 Houston's Caliche Accelerates Beaumont Expansion with Major Investment 💼🚀
Houston-based Caliche Development Partners is accelerating the expansion of its natural gas and helium storage projects in Beaumont, Texas, following a major investment from New York-based Sixth Street. The Texas portion of the deal was recently finalized, granting Caliche the green light to advance its ambitious plans, although the financial details remain undisclosed.
Caliche has begun construction to double the capacity of its Golden Triangle Storage natural gas facility from 14 billion to 28 billion cubic feet, with new caverns expected to come online in 2026 and 2027. Simultaneously, the company is building what will be the world’s largest helium storage cavern at the Golden Triangle site, set to begin operations in 2025. A carbon sequestration project located just four miles away is also slated to start in 2025.
The Beaumont site connects to seven major pipelines, cementing its critical role in the region’s energy infrastructure. Caliche, a leader in underground storage solutions, specializes in storing natural gas, industrial gases like helium and hydrogen, and carbon emissions, with projects spanning Jefferson County, Texas, and Colusa County, California.
