Swiss EfW specialist Kanadevia Inova has been selected by Viridor to design, construct, and commission the Tilbury Energy Recovery Facility in East London. The plant, set to process 350,000 tonnes of waste annually and generate 40MW of electricity, is scheduled to begin operations in 2028.

The project will explore future combined heat and power (CHP) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) options. Praising Kanadevia Inova’s track record, Viridor’s Leon Brackstone highlighted their timely delivery, budget adherence, and strong safety record.

This is Kanadevia Inova’s 20th wte project in the UK and follows their recent collaboration with Encyclis on another EfW plant.
