🇩🇪 Germany Secures 4,098 MW of New Wind Power at Auction

Germany’s Bundesnetzagentur has approved 4,098 MW of onshore wind capacity during its November auction, marking a significant step toward the country’s renewable energy goals. The auction attracted strong domestic and international interest, highlighting confidence in Germany’s renewable energy sector. This move is part of the agency’s broader plan to auction 10,000 MW of capacity annually until 2028, with the goal of achieving 80% renewable energy by 2030.

Winning bids ranged from 6.93 to 7.35 cents per kilowatt hour, slightly below the prices in the previous auction, reflecting a competitive market. Industry heavyweights like RWE were among the 348 winners of permits, signaling strong momentum in the green energy transition.

The auction underscores Germany’s commitment to renewable energy and presents lucrative opportunities for investors. The slightly lower price dynamics suggest a highly attractive market for bidding and sustainable portfolio returns. Germany’s leadership in expanding wind power could also inspire similar initiatives across Europe, influencing global energy strategies and investment trends.
