♻️ Avergies, Valorizon, and Waga Energy Partner to Produce RNG in France

Avergies, Valorizon, and Waga Energy have joined forces to produce Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) in Southwestern France through an innovative environmental project. The partnership focuses on recovering biogas from the Albié non-hazardous landfill in Monflanquin, which processes approximately 30,000 tonnes of waste annually. By the end of 2025, a state-of-the-art WAGABOX® unit will be operational, producing around 12 GWh of RNG per year—enough to meet the energy needs of 3,000 households.

This initiative will inject the produced RNG directly into GRDF’s distribution network, supplying homes and businesses in the Lot-et-Garonne region with locally sourced green energy. In doing so, the project will prevent 2,400 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually by replacing fossil natural gas with biomethane.

The project also involves significant enhancements to the landfill’s biogas capture network, previously used only for flaring, under the guidance of Waga Energy’s technology and expertise. The clean energy generated not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also supports the region’s energy transition goals.
