The Mensing Group is set to invest €30 million in a state-of-the-art polyethylene (PE) film recycling plant in Hohenwestedt, northern Germany. Managed by its subsidiary MFR Nord GmbH, the facility will process 35,000 tonnes of PE film scrap annually, focusing on post-consumer flexible packaging, agricultural, construction, and commercial films. Scheduled to begin operations by late Q1 2026, the plant will produce recycled PE for various applications. Despite tough market conditions and the cancellation of a collaboration with Lyondell-Basell, the project underscores Mensing’s commitment to sustainability and advancing circular economy efforts.
