Egyptian Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi has signed two significant agreements with Shell Egypt and Cheiron Energy, valued at a combined $340 million, to enhance oil and gas production in the Mediterranean and the Suez Gulf. The Shell agreement, worth $222 million, focuses on the tenth phase of gas production in the West Delta Deep offshore area, with plans to drill three new wells and build offshore facilities. The Cheiron deal, amounting to $120 million, aims to boost oil production by drilling nine wells in the Geisum and Tawila West area, increasing production from 21,000 to 26,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
